I was born and raised in a small town in central Kentucky. My parents were and still are my closest friends and biggest fans. They taught me to appreciate what it meant to work hard and love harder.
I accepted Christ when I was 13 years old and began pursuing deeper knowledge of His Word at a young age. In college, however, my relationship with Him was more of a status than a priority. After a very trying and difficult time, I began to see how empty my heart was without Him and began seeking the Lord in a new, passionate way. In March of 2006, I surrendered my life completely into the hands of my Savior. I have not looked back since.
I have a Bachelor's in Biology/Chemistry, a Master's in Business Administration with emphasis' in Marketing and Health Care Administration and a second Master's in Teaching 5-12 Business Education. I have worn many hats -- a youth minister, admissions counselor, photographer and stay-at-home mama. Today, I wear the hat of a full-time marketing teacher and DECA advisor at Taylor County High School where I spend my days living life with the most amazing teenagers on the planet.
I met my husband, Benson the semester before I graduated college. After dating for over two years, we married on a hot August day in the presence of God and company of our family and friends. He was, is and will always be my best friend, partner in ministry and love of my life.
Together we have three amazing children. Our first son, Luke, who was born with severe congenital heart defects and went to Heaven on July 10, 2010 when he was just 12 days old. You can read more about his story here. A few months later, we found out that we were pregnant again with a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Our "Crazy" Kate Elisabeth has been taking the world by storm for nearly four years now. She is full of life, joy and a lot of drama. In February 2014, we added our sweet boy, Max Thomas to our clan and his sweet smile and personality lights up our home.
I am a woman who lives passionately, loves deeply and fears nothing. This blog is a reflection of what God is stirring within my heart and a testimony to how beautiful life can be when we choose to live it in the fullness of God's grace.
